I just set up an ipad with a seagate wireless external hard drive. I use the ipad to access the internet, emails, etc. I would like to download videos and video images via the ipad to the external hard drive. In other words, access the website with the ipad and direct the downloads to the external hard drive. Is this possible and if so how is it done?
    Thanks

I haven’t tried this since I don’t have the same set up as you, but give this a try:

Go to Settings>Safari and set Safari’s download location to the Seagate. Now Open Safari and give it a try.

    Cheryl,
Thanks for the response. I went to setting>safari but do not see a tab for specifying the download location. Am I missing something?
I am new to the ipad and realize that it doesn't function exactly like a laptop or desktop. Thanks again.

I have to do a search on this. In the meantime, I hope some on this board can jump in to assist.

Have you installed the Seagate Media App for iOS?

    http://www.seagate.com/services-software/apps/seagate-media-app/

Looks like it only works with a subset of content (music, photos, videos) and does not allow direct downloads of files from a web browser on the iPad to the hard drive.

If the wireless external hard drive supports an FTP/sFTP connection, you might have some luck with the newly-released Transmit iOS app. It's an FTP/sFTP client for iOS, and might allow some type of workaround for what you're trying to do.
