Well - Adium could still work, unless they change how the yahoo messenger protocol interacts. But even with Adium, you'd only be able to go certifiably to version 1.0.6.

if the protocol version that Adium uses for Yahoo! is going to expire, no one but the authors of the Adium software can fix that. If and when they do fix it, you will download a new version of the Adium client and be on your merry way. ...
