a .sitx file and I can't seem to open it. I tried to find out what's wrong online and websites have recommended two things. One that I shouldn't download WMP but Flip4Mac instead, and two to download stuffit. Should I do both these things or is there something preprogrammed on my laptop? ...

Thanks for your replies. - I've run software updates - Already had Perian installed but it didn't make any difference - I've now installed Flip4Mac plugin as well, but it doesn't help me in this case I should have clarified that I used iMovie on an old iBook for the digitising (OSX 10.3.9) and the files played fine on Quicktime on that computer - however this laptop...

If you want to MAKE a DVD video disc, It all comes down to how iDVD reads your source content. Most of your VCDs and AVI's will use one of a few codecs, probably some version of DivX, while your wmv's are using some version of Windows Media Video. Out of the box, Quicktime (which iDVD uses to playback and render content) has little or no support for either of these codecs....
