Image Capture

I'm having a very bad day. :( This is just one of the many problems that I am faced with. The default browser is set for "Image Capture Extention" and is grayed out so that I cannot change it to "Safari" Can anyone tell me what preference file(s) I need to dump in order to get it back to a default setting? Not sure if this is relevant, but I had a similar issue with a Sony still camera. I solved my issue with a software upgrade on the camera, not a driver on the computer.
