Image Capture

when i try to scan photos using image capture, the overview scan works fine, and i can see the photo, but when i press scan, it goes through the actions, and the scanner goes to work, but after the scan is finished, my photo is nowhere to be found. it simply does not show up in the folder i specified. help please
