SnapzPro or if you're upgrading to Snow Leopard then use Quicktime. Video screen capture comes as a feature standard on the QT shipped with 10.6. -- EDIT -- Just noticed this was dug up from the grave...oops.

I have OS X, Ver. 10.4.11. When I click the apple icon in the upper left and select 'MAC OS X Software', nothing happens. I have all updates. I have tried removing all Internet Plug-Ins. in home>Library>Preferences, there was not even a com.apple.Safari.plist to delete!

Fryke, I'm a low-level Mac user, so please excuse what might be an obvious question for a more seasoned user, but, if I carry out the upgrade and find I have problems, can I not just restore my full system backup from my external Time Machine drive or do I have to do a clean install and then restore from my Time Machine backup? I've only just set up Time Machine yesterday...

Try this: 1) Download the DivX installer from divx.com. 2) Run the installer and install DivX. 3) After the install is complete, locate the "DivX" folder inside your "Applications" folder. 4) Locate "Uninstall DivX for Mac" in that folder and run it. This will update/upgrade any DivX things you've installed to the latest version, overwriting any plug-ins or DivX apps...

How did you get rid of DivX? Did you drag the DivX-related applications in the Applications folder to the trash? DivX installs a number of system-level things, including the applications in the Applications folder. It also installs Quicktime plug-ins in a different folder.
