I had the same problem. Use the non-carbonzied version of Stuffit. The carbonized version sucks ass. It corrupts the installer and you sit on "pre-processing script". Now, when you get it installed, tell me how to set it up.

As I said - stuffit will not install anything - it's just a file expander, and not a very good one at that. "The Unarchiver" has much more flexibility, among other choices. It also does not provide a way to install other software. If you right-click on that .pkg - what are your choices in the menu after clicking Open With ?

As others have said, leave Windows Media Player alone. For other .sitx files and other archives, download and install Stuffit Expander. ...

hi. i have OS X version 10.5.7 I tried downloading Microsoft Media Player but it's a .sitx file and I can't seem to open it. I tried to find out what's wrong online and websites have recommended two things. One that I shouldn't download WMP but Flip4Mac instead, and two to download stuffit. Double-clicking an installer (usually a .pkg file) shouldn't be getting interference from stuffit - which is not an installer at all. Right-click on that installer .pkg - then choose Installer from the Open With menu Does that start the installer properly?
