There was a problem with constant Finder crashes and having a certain version of StuffIt installed, although I thought it only affected 10.5 Leopard... http://www.versiontracker.com/php/feedback/article.php?story=20070105004936599 It may be worth your time to try and either uninstall StuffIt, or upgrade it to the latest version and see if that helps. If not, post back...

That is semi-accurate, at best. Subtitles are rarely "hard-coded" into video tracks. The subtitles that are available on DVD disks, for instance, are not "hard-coded" into the video and are actually a separate data stream. Some video containers, like the MKV container, actually contain flat-text files for the subtitles that can be read by any text editor and modified,...

I found a better solution than all the others listed. You can COMPLETELY dim the iMac screen immediately. My specific problem is that I run QuicKeys macros all night and I'm noticing screen burn in on my iMac. I can't turn off the iMac's display without putting it completely to sleep; the brightness controls will only dim so far; and Energy Saver won't keep the screen...

If you use Classic, then you should upgrade only to Tiger and then use Software Update to upgrade to MacOS X 10.4.11. Tiger runs the latest version of Safari. You next issue is hard drive space. Remember that you should maintain at least 10% of your hard drive capacity as free...

This is the most recent version of MacOS X 10.4. You may install updates for certain OS components like QuickTime and Java. You may also install security updates as they are released. However, you cannot install "updates" to older versions of the OS. Software Update should handle all of your OS update needs. If you are having issues with third-party software, then you...

Download the latest Flash Player and use the deinstall part of it to remove you old plugin. Then restart and run the installer again and install the latest Flash Player. One should always deinstall Flash Player before upgrading to a newer version because Flash is badly written for OS X, this is well known. Once again a third party plugin will destroy Safari. Most Safari...
