Ah, OK! That's not a disk image that mounts - that's the partition that you created with the Boot Camp utility. If you didn't install Windows on that partition, then it would be empty. So, that's not Boot Camp that you see, but the results of what Boot Camp does - which is create a bootable partition that you can use for Windows. How do you remove that partition? You have...

dmg is like a compressed image file. If you download a normal does it still go away?with the way your telling your story it only happens in .dmg downloads w/c is unusual. Provide us a link to what your trying to download maybe we can have a better idea what it is. Better yet go to versiontracker or apple downloads try downloading anything there

If the printer works fine from other machines, and does not work fine from your machine, that tends to speak more of your computer than the printer itself, as you may suspect. If you create a new user account on your computer and log in under that new account, does the Print & Fax System Preference pane "behave" any better?
