    Issue with disk permissions

Interesting. I have my Time Machine backups going to an external HDD, but read that APFS is preferred for Time Machine. Thoughts?

    Issue with disk permissions

DeltaMac, M.M. 6,2 which has an internal SSD as the boot disk, and an internal HDD, onto which I wish to periodically save an image of the SSD, which, according to Apple Support, I should be able to do. (see pic below) The problem is that the "Get info" window that I am now getting does not show...

    Issue with disk permissions

EDIT......##SOLVED## Background: I have recently updated to Monterey, and my boot SSD and 2nd internal HDD are both now APFS. I am not a computer wizz, just a medium user with enough knowledge to get into strife, but not quite enough to always get out of strife without help. This is my first...

    Noob Question

I just moved to a 2012 Mac Mini, and from Snow Leopard to El Capitan at the same time. The Mac MIni I bought has supposedly got 2 X 1TB HHDs installed, but I am unsure if that is actually true. The new Finder is unfamiliar to me, so I might be misunderstanding. Both Disk Utility and Finder seem...

    Upgrade & Update Time....or Not

Cheryl, Siera is still a bit buggy apparently, and Mavericks is the best of the newish bunch as far as I can see from reading up on the net.

    Upgrade & Update Time....or Not

Having decided to upgrade from 2009 Mini 2012 Mini, I thought it prudent to update from my favourite ever OS Snow Leopard, to something a bit newer, Mavericks at least. Great idea, but as I have never bought an OS from the Apple Store, I find that I can't update!!!!! It appears that I have to...

    Random Spontaneous Reboots When Asleep

Update:- looks good so far, so I am hoping that is the end of it. I will come back if it isn't fixed. Many thanks for your time & help :-) Phill.

    Random Spontaneous Reboots When Asleep

So, it rebooted again while asleep. I looked at Users-Library-Logs-DiagnosticReports and it appears that Spyder3utility is the cause. As it doesn't have its own uninstall, I used appcleaner, and searched for any remnant files (in hidden files also) and could find none. I assumed that appcleaner...

    Random Spontaneous Reboots When Asleep

That installed OK, and thanks for the detailed explanation. I have always assumed that the OS updater would get the full and comprehensive version. I assume that once the combined update has installed, future updates from the OS auto updater will suffice?

    Random Spontaneous Reboots When Asleep

Thank you, I will update logitec control centre. Is the Combined OS Updater different to updating from the Apple System update at the top lhs of the screen? (This computer is updated from there regularly, two days ago was the last time.) There is 40gb of free space on the ssd. I'll let you know...

    Random Spontaneous Reboots When Asleep

Mac Mini 2009 running yosemite keeps rebooting when asleep. Could someone please "decipher" the kernel panic report and give me some idea of what the issue might be? Sun Nov 15 01:34:04 2015 *** Panic Report *** panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff8003016df2): Kernel trap at 0xffffff80034d67a6...
