Deleting an email address ....

In my address book, I had two emails for a colleague - one for his home and one for his place of work. He asked me a week ago to stop sending any emails to his work address. So I went into the address book and deleted his work email address and just kept his home address.

Now when I create a new email for him in Apple Mail and type the first few letters of his name, more often than not the rest of his home email address auto-fills. Unfortunately on some occasions when I type the first few letters of his name, I discover later that Apple Mail has selected his work address instead of his home address. It appears that when creating a new email, Apple Mail still has a list of all his email addresses.

How do I change this list?

In Mail, go to the Window Menu and select Previous Recipients. A new window will open. This is a list of all the email addresses you have sent an email to or received from. This is what is used to auto-fill. Just scroll down the list, click on the name and then click on the Remove from List button at the bottom of the window.
