    Upgrading from iPad 9.7 Verizon

Well, we just picked up a 2021 iPad 10.2 256 with 4gb at, of all places, Target. Just WiFi. With cellular was another $150. The Apple store had the same one for $5 more and we had to drive an hour to get it. So I think we got a good deal. I’ll set up our iPhones for hotspot if the iPad ever...

    Upgrading from iPad 9.7 Verizon

Let me ask a ‘for instance’. We both always have our iPhones. Could we not use the iPhone as a hotspot that the iPad could use with its WiFi?

    Upgrading from iPad 9.7 Verizon

The one she has now is WiFi but it’s got a Verizon SIM card. So you’re saying if we buy an unlocked WiFi model, it won’t get cell? Getting away from Verizon I guess isn’t that big an issue but it is $25 a month. We can buy an unlocked version and still go to a Verizon store to have it ported...

    Upgrading from iPad 9.7 Verizon

Cheryl - I think I like what you’re saying. As long as I already have WiFi in the house, there is no need for me to go through Verizon with an actual phone number. The iPad is never used for calls, messaging, etc. Am I on the same page?

    Upgrading from iPad 9.7 Verizon

Hey Cheryl - thanks for the reply. I'm just curious how easy it it to port a new iPad to an existing Verizon account. I guess my next step is to contact the support team at Verizon.

    Upgrading from iPad 9.7 Verizon

I want to upgrade my wife's iPad from a 2018 iPad 9.7 to a new iPad. She has a nerve damage disability and uses her iPad for Happy Color painting app. It takes her mind off the pain. Not an air or a Pro, just a newer, better, faster model. I'd like to buy from anywhere but Verizon. What is the...

Create bootable clone of Mojave startup disk to another internal drive

Hey all - I am on Mojave, MacPro 5,1. want to create an exact copy of my startup disk (Bay 1) and I want to clone it to another internal drive (Bay 4). It appears that Carbon Copy Cloner will only create the clone to an External drive. It keeps calling it a Dry Run when I attempt to clone from...

    300 GB Unaccounted for

Thanks, DeltaMac. These files were taking up HUGE chunks of space. My Mojave startup disk had over 500GB of core files. That's half of the hard drive!

    300 GB Unaccounted for

I did just find an article about hitting command + shift + period to show hidden files. There is a folder called "cores" that has 289 GB of stuff. Now the follow-up question is - What are the core files that are using all of this from?

    300 GB Unaccounted for

Good morning - I have a 320Gb hard drive in Bay 4 of my MacPro5,1 that I'm trying to turn into a back up startup drive. I thought that I had pretty much cleared everything off of the drive so I only have an empty Users folder that I can't delete. This drive did at one time have the Sierrra OS...

    Full Mojave Download

Thanks, Cheryl. Question - I have 4 hard drives running. Can I unpack it onto one of those hard drives and install from there or is the bootable thumb drive still the better option?

    Full Mojave Download

Hello - I found the thread about downloading the Mojave macOSUpdCombo10.14.4.dmg. Do I need an earlier download to do an initial install of Mojave, upgrading from El Capitan? Would somebody be so kind to leave a download link. Please and thank you!

Finder missing folder flippers - High Sierra

Yeah, whatever they are called. In the finder, I can no longer flip the triangle to the left of the folder to see what is in the folder. Plus now the tabs are all open in the same window, not separate windows. Is that new to High Sierra? Thank you!

Complete startup disk backup Mac Pro with Sierra

Wondering…if I do make a disk image of the startup (while booted from another drive to get everything), when I want to burn that image back, will it erase the drive i'm writing back to. Make sense?

Complete startup disk backup Mac Pro with Sierra

I've moved EVERYTHING off of the drive other than some apps. I'm in packaging so have Adobe apps but have moved the apps themselves to another internal drive. I even rebooted to another drive, this with High Sierra and ran the backup from there. Same thing. I know I could just reinstall Adobe...

Complete startup disk backup Mac Pro with Sierra

I have been using a 500 gig drive as a startup drive for Sierra and a MacPro 2012 5,1 and want to make a COMPLETE backup to migrate to a 1tb drive. Eventually I will upgrade to High Sierra - the highest I can go - I think - on this computer. I have run out of space, showing 319gb used and 2.7gb...
