    Mac Mini - Potential Downside

It really does make you wonder why Apple didn't make it more user-friendly in the tweaking department; after all, at that cost, if something really broke that was not covered by warranty, you could easily just buy another one and Apple would benefit from being able to claim greater numbers shipped!

Unable to configure name-based virtual hosting

You've left out your directory tags which should be included for best results. Try this for a super basic setup: /etc/httpd/httpd.conf NameVirtualHost 192.168.2.3:80 (match to your internal IP) ## default site Include /etc/httpd/conf.d/*.conf /etc/httpd/conf.d/virtualhost01.conf...

The OS X interface is starting to really get under my skin.

In Expose, if you are using the default settings: F10 will show all open windows in the front application which is like Expose-F9 for all applications (of course, BBEdit does have a stack or tile command much like what Windows will do). In addition, once F10ed, you can then tab through each...

help me justify a new powerbook

For Exchange, in a pinch, you can use the Outlook Web Access client assuming your IT guys have enabled it; with Exchange 2003, the OWA client has been vastly improved and can replace most of your daily Exchange needs.

help me justify a new powerbook

If you are using a Cisco PIX firewall, the Cisco VPN Client for OS X works beautifully; and yes, your IT guys will have access to this software (no such thing as only having access to Windows-only downloads) if you have a current maintenance contract with Cisco.

    Anyone use Skype?

Version 0.8 stunk for me, but the last two updates (0.9 and 0.10) have been great. Audio quality is pretty good (a bit flat for my taste), and it seems pretty stable. I use it for international Skype-Skype calls with my brother and it's been a tool to have.

Ways in which Firefox can improve

Turns out flipping between tabs is ctrl-tab (shift-ctrl-tab for the reverse direction) instead of command-arrows... Close other tabs in Safari is option-command-W. Cheers.

Ways in which Firefox can improve

I do like the numerous options that Firefox does allow you to have though; with some tweaking, I have it set up to function like Safari (new tabs in focus, etc) and I love the "Show images from originating site only" option (bye bye ads although this does kill stuff like webcam image feeds...

Ways in which Firefox can improve

More aesthetic than anything, the "upside down" tabs visually threw me off since I'm so used to seeing the tab connected to the menu bar rather than the page. Since I use Safari in brushed metal mode, the default theme in Firefox looks so white! Without the brushed metal tabs, I find it gets...
