forgot to mention. its a cd-r I burned. two of em. one burned with toast, one with macosX finder. neither would mount. here is the error i get.

apple remote desktop wont work on this machine. :( when I click it in system prefs, sys prefs crashes.

they were blank cds that were burned using toast. and I even burned one using osX in the finder. they would not mount on imac either way. :( real confusing. burned cd's on my g4 mount fine.

here is the error. "You have inserted a disk containing no volumes that macosX can read. To continue with the disk, click ignore. " Ignore eject when I click ignore, nothing happens. disc dont mount. could it be a driver issue with the cd drive?

just installed osX 10.2 on a 333mhz imac, and cd'r disc's wont mount! I hear them spinning, but wont mount. get a error disk is unrecognized format. or something like that? what gives?

just installed jaguar on this 333mhz imac. all seems well. But, I put in a cd and its spinning, and NOT mounting on the desktop. ???? now what?

have you noticed that sometimes, the spinning black and white beachball cursor appears under jaguar? yuk! I hated this for years using the mac... :( did apple forget to ditch this beast? I figured they missed it or something? LOL

ive read several osX books and dont remember seeing a how to on that one. How does one add something like that to the menu bar? drag and drop? But from where? the application icon? thanks. :)

thanks for the info. Hey, why ya got so many macs? Im jealous. ;) I just bought a 256 meg chip for this imac. $52!! wow. cheap. amazing how cheap ram is and how many people do NOT bother to upgrade it. Big mistake.

trying to open a 34 mb mpeg movie I downloaded. got this error. Im using osX 10.2, and quicktime 6 pro. "couldnt open the file *filename.mpg* because a software component needed by the movie could not be found. " what does this mean? Im using the quicktime 6 that installed from the 10.2...

I used virex for years and liked it. good interface, easy to use, update. version 7.1 for osX stinks! it's slow, ugly, and I just learned you MUST be a .mac member to get dat updates! this is stupid! Why did apple and/or mcafee do this? They just lost a long time customer...

I agree. the switchers campaign is great. :) what happened to apple dominating the education market? I dont see it here where I live. The community college I went to "had" a mac only lab, but canned that several yrs ago to make room for more pee cee's. Giant food "use to" have an apples...
