Airport card with 3rd party wireless hub (NetBlaster)

I have a PBG4 with an airport card, which I got to replace a HP Omnibook. For the Omnibook, I bought a NetBlaster II wireless card and hub. As Airport is 802.11b, the card sees the Netblaster hub, and gives me signal strength. But the rub is that Airport can't be used concurrently with PPPoE...

    VPN client Checkpoint compatible?

Does anyone know of a VPN client that would work in a comparable way as Checkpoint's SecuRemote software client? FWZ encryption, etc. Anyone had any luck getting behind their company's firewall?

    Problems installing Apache 2 beta

Supposedly has OS X support out of the box. Anyone know what this may mean, then? When I was compiling Apache 2.0.16, got it after ./build (went fine), ./configure (went fine), on make: /usr/bin/ld: Undefined symbols: _apr_create_signal_thread _apr_setup_signal_thread make[1]: ***...

    StartUpItems vs. (erm) StartUpItems

One's in /Library, the other's in /System/Library, and they're not the same. Any clues?

    What happened to NeXbar?

Looks like someone forgot a registration payment to keep ubermind.com. I can't find a mirror anywhere.

    Mail.app daily outputs

Well, since nobody answered my first question about transferring preferences, I'm hesitant to try another, but here goes. A couple of weeks ago, my Mail started giving me these messages instead of the normal ones, and I can't for the life of me remember what I did. Anyone have a clue what might...

    Preference transfer

I can't get my root preferences to transfer to my everyday user prefs. I know there are some things users can't do that root can, but I copy my entire root folder in private/var, stick it in Users and rename it my name (I've also set my system to show all hidden files), and not even my dock...

    changing priorities

Is there any way to say, give an MP3 player or some other real-time app greater access to the processor or memory or disk? I'm tired of the player skipping everytime the mail app indexes or I switch apps.

    Software update works.

Software update works. Only made one little change, though, that I noticed, though no record of it in console. Can anyone else find out where the changes are logged? It said none of my software needed updating, but it did make that little change.

    Net speeds...

OK. I wrote Verizon and wailed on tech support for not giving my my full 1.5 MB DSL. I have two computers on the hub: a Win98 laptop, and an iMac w/OSX PB. Both were getting only ~400-500Kbps. I did a little digging, and found out how to adjust the TCP RWIN value for the 98 laptop, and now...

    Tweaking the swap file

Anyone know how to do this? I ask because I think a lot of the thrashing I'm experiencing is due to a non-optimal swap file size, but I don't know if there are any rules of thumb. What's the swap file called anyway? Where is it? How do I change it? Any help appreciated. masonmcd@mac.com

What can I do with sendmail?

How do I install it and get it up and running? I've gone to http://www.sendmail.org, but it doesn't cover the basics, like how to turn it on, just compiling and configuring. What can I do with it? A URL would be fine if you don't want to get into the nitty gritty. But I'd like to, actually.
