    internal DVD/CD-RW question

I have a 677MHz G4. I'm pretty hapy with it, but have one major thing that I don't like about it: I can't watch DVDs and the CD-RW drive runs at 8x. I was wondering if anyone had any luck in getting an internal DVD/CD-RW drive to work with iTunes and the Apple DVD player? Thanks.

    Apple 23" Cinema Display Question....

so, I am looking into getting one of these displays for my G4.... However, I have an antique solid oak desk. The desk is 60" wide. Currently my Mac is sitting next to the desk on the floor (on the G-Riser so it is a little closer to the display). My question is simple: for people with apple...

    Quicken Alternative

I'm thinking of using a quicken-like application to track my finances. I'd rather not use Quicken because they have irritatedf the crap out of me with their mac support. Can you guys recommend an accounting package? I don't need anything overly sophisticated, but I would like to import QIF...

CD burning in OSX is PATHETIC

and yes, I mean for those to be all caps. This is the one thing that bothers me the most about OSX (yes, I am using 10.2.1). now don't go telling me to get Toast. I got Toast and I think it works great, but my mother in law, who spent what she considers a fortune on her computer. is not...

    3rd party FW cards...

I was wondering if anyone had a 3rd party firewire card working on their system. I had a card that I transfered over from my 7500. I transfered because I figured I would eventually need it. For the longest time, I made do with the 2 FW ports on my Mac. One connects to an UMAX 6400 FireWire...

    chronic network problems....

Even since updating to jaguar, I've had the most irritating mail problem.... At first I thought it was my ISP since my upgrate happened at exactly the same time that my ISP's email servers took a nosedive (permanently damaging some of my pop account). Now my ISP has everything squared...

    Screwy Services...

I'll like to clean up my services menu as it has a bunch of crap that I don't use/like. I looked in the three most likely places I could think of: /Library/Services /System/Library/Services /Users/me/Library/Services but there are a lot of services that seem to come out of nowhere...

    HP Margins

Just installed v 1.3 of the OS X drivers for my HP 940c. I was hoping that HP would finally fix the margins on the print drivers. Unfortunately, the margins are still .07" on the top and .46" on the bottom. Predictably, my documents print all the way to the top of the paper with a huge...

    MS hardware

We all *know* what a disaster it is when MicroShaft does software. I mean, the first hit from http://www.trustworthycomputing.com has the words "Microsoft", "devastating" and "hole". That pretty much says it all. :D But now that MicroSucks is also doing hardware. It kind of makes you wonder...
