Last night I copied a large (360 megs) file over to my brothers iMac, using AppleTalk over TCP/IP. After the file transfer wuz complete, the file suddenly disappeared. We've been searching the entire HD for it, but it seems like the file is gone. I don't know what happened, maybe someone else...

if i assign the file extension ".app" to a application or whatever? will the system ever be able again to launch any apps or will i have to reinstall os x?!?

Can I use my old OS 9 fonts in MacOS X? I mean, can I just drag the OS 9 fonts over to the OS X System folder into the fonts folder? Or won't that work?

When I try to print something on Mac OS X 10.1.3, the Print Center will open, but also a "Folder" called "PrintJobMgr". Its not really a folder, it seems to be an app as it bounces around on the left side of the dock. I can even bring it to front. But it has the icon of a folder. Is this normal...

try the following: create a new empty folder in the finder. name it "New Folder.rtf" now open up the information window and.... the folder is no more a folder. its now a rich text file! pretty interesting. its then even possible to drag the folder onto textedit ... but unfortunately...

Since I updated to OS X 10.1.3, my mac crashes at least once a day. The kernel won't panic, but after having my iMac running for like 10 hours, the spinning rainbow cursor will appear and never disappear again until i reboot. This really sucks. Wit 10.1.2 I wuz having uptimes of about 30 days...

In the preferences "energy saver" panel I have set my built-in iMac monitor to switch off after 20 minutes. Unfortunately, OS X won't really shut down the monitor after the set time. Although the screen will get black, the monitor will b still switched on, as I can see when its dark in my room...

Everytime I watch a DVD movie on MacOS X 10.1.2, my Plasmatunnel OpenGL screensaver gets messed up. Is this a known bug that watching DVD movies messes up OpenGL? If so, I wonder why it only messes up the OpenGL screensavers, and not OpenGL games too.
