Since I do not need to worry about viruses I am want to delete Norton Anti Virus and Firewall. The constant scans are getting anoying and I have to disable my firewall whenever I visit a certain web site. Not having an unistaller I just dragged everyfile I could find to the trash. Most of which can not be deleted and I have a feeling I have screwed myself since some of the deleted files are nesisary for launching the progaram when I boot up. How can I delet these programs?

Go to System Preferences and click on Accounts. Click on the Startup Items tab and see which app is autostarted after booting the system. This way Norton Anti Virus and Firewall apps are not launched anymore but possibly still exist in a folder somewhere. Without an uninstaller it's tough to find all Norton related files.
