Hauntd by .Mac

I haven't had my .Mac account for Way over a year. I've removed Every reference to it that I can find (including address book, Mails' Previous Recipients and Apple Script's Add / Remove SMTP servers). Yet, it keeps popping up in various places. Just now, trying to send an an email from within an application, I was rejected because it tried to use the .mac smtp server. I do Not have the option of changing this within the application.

The Only place where .Mac still lives is my username for Apple Discussions (I tried changing it, but it was an absolute No Can Do.)

The haunting gets worse. Right after the failed email, keychain suddenly forgot my login info for Apple Discussions (the .Mac), and I had to login as a first timer on this machine all over again.

Do I need to call a priest?

A clean install should do the trick. It's probably residing in receipts and plists and Library stuff.

Just wait till Tiger and Backup/iSync is renamed .Mac sync. ...
