Importing a .pst file into Entourage?????

I am switching from office 2000 (windows version) to Office X. Enourage does not recognize.pst files, but that is how my address book and email was saved. I cant just resave it from the windows machine (300 miles away). Is there a work around for this? The help file says to resave it as a text file, which is not an option. This is surprising, even for microsoft that their product does not recognize previous versions of their software. Any help and suggestions are welcome as this is frustrating.
 
I'm not sure if this will work or not, but it is worth a try.

Download Outlook 2001 for Mac from MS (http://www.microsoft.com/mac), and open up your PST file in that. Try to export the contacts using Outlook and see if that works. Otherwise, you will have to go back to a computer with Outlook on Windows.
