Mac can't find Fedora smb share

Hi!

I've got a small network here. 2 Macs, 2 Linux machines and 3 pc's (Windows).
I created a new user on fedora, and after that a user with SMB. Same names, same passwords.
I ten created a new folder, changed its permissions to the new user, added it to the Samba server, (smb.conf updated) et voila, the PC's see the shared SMB folder.

I try to logon to the same SMB share (which, btw has no firewall) from Mac osx Panther 10.3.5, by choosing 'Connect to server', type in the ip of the SMB machine, and all i get is 'Could not connect, server is not responding' and that's it. I also tried this: SMB://<ip_number>/<folder>, that does not work either, i get something like: 'Could not connect, because one or more elements could not be located' (sorry for bad translation, it was originally Dutch:), but something like that anyway!

I'm lost..

Anyone?

Thanx in advance

Just to try to figure out if it's OS X's problem or the network/linux's, try this from the Mac Terminal:
smbclient -NL <IP_address_of_Fedora>
