Is there such a thing for OS X or is there some solution (gateway?) that will let me use voicechat from a Mac to someone on Yahoo?
 
there is nothing that will let you have voicechat on your mac with someone on yahoo (that should be windows yahoo, since the mac version only supports IM and videochat). However, you might want to check skype. It's a great VoIP tool which is available for many systems.
 
Is there anything that would allow video conferencing - other than requiring my friends to sign up to AIM?
