I need to bring up the network while in single user mode. It is critical that
the filesystem remain mounted read-only (making disk image). Running "sh /etc/rc" would remount read-write.
I am trying to run ifconfig manually:
ifconfig: interface en0 does not exist
kextload claims Apple_DEC21x4Ethernet.kext is already loaded.
netinfo, ipconfig, etc can't be used because they require write access to
the file system.
I have searched the net but found nothing.
OS X 10.4 Tiger, iMac G3 DV 400Mhz
Thanks in advance.
