NO FTP access now - why?

I'm confused, I have just installed a pent@U usb satellite router, it connects to a windows pc machine (sorry), then it shares out the connection to my LAN. I had to set the HTTP proxy and the SOCKS proxy to the ip of that PC that's sharing, then in Entourage, I had to set the MAIL PROXY to the same as well. Problem I'm getting is that I'm not able to use my FTP software, not in dreamweaver or Transmit. I've tried entering the proxy settings for FTP in network and this does nothing, also in Transmit, you have the opportunity to set a proxy setting, and the same again.

Does samba filesharing between pc and mac work? If so, can you use ftp over the lan? You didn't mention your os. If you are on panther, what about the built in ftp server? And did you try to turn off the firewall on your pc?

I don't think you two are saying the same thing...

I think antonioconte wants to FTP FROM his Mac not TO it..

The outgoing proxy settings are in the Network Preference Pane's Proxies tab.

ftp FROM the mac means having an ftp server installed and not a client, right? Panther has one built in. If it's about a client, simply use safari.

No... He mentioned Dreamweaver and Transmit. Those are FTP clients like Fetch.

His point was that they clients were not connecting to other machines because the outgoing proxies were not set.

antonioconte please confirm you got this figured out.
