OpenOffice OSX

second thread to the same subject. well then, mine died. :) please look before posting...

As I said, I've installed it, and it looks like a nasty Windows app (which is ironic), plus you do need to install XDarwin (which is fun to play with)... but if thing gets Aquafied, it would be my choice.

Wonder how the Windows version fairs?

This has been out for a while. The xdarwin version kind of sucks, but they are working on an aqua version now.

Nope, it's out yesterday. :)

The 'older' version wasn't based on OpenOffice.org's 1.0 code but an earlier version. This one's got PRINTING with CUPS!

Just saw this post in the openoffice developer mailing list....

If as the author suggests, and Apple help considarably - does anyone think it would merge AppleWorks into the project: my thinking is that the grammer checker and other features in AppleWorks (there is a grammer checker isn't there?) could be released as open source and introduced into OpenOffice. What do you guys think?
