Outlook Express Spell Check

I have a friend that is still using OS9 and Outlook Express but didn't have the spell check function so I installed an old version of MSWord 5.1 thinking that would enable spell check. When I go to preferences in Outlook the spelling tab is dimmed. If anyone can tell me how to enable spell check I could sure use the advise.

Try downloading an up-to-date version of OE. That would give the best chance for Spellcheck to work.
That 10-year old version of Word would not have anything to offer a fairly recent version of OE, that would be about 4 major software generations between those 2. The last Word version for OS 9 would be Word 2001 (roughly version 8) and OE is at version 5.0.6 for OS 9.
