I recently bought a G5 and to put it to the test also bought Unreal Tournament 2004. This comes on DVD and I'm having right royal problems getting it to mount. You need it in the drive to play the game - although the actual game files are now on my hard disk (stupid copy protection annoying legitimate users, but that's another story!).
The DVD only seems to mount one in three or four times and makes a right old noise trying. My G5 has the CD-RW/DVD-RW drive.
It mounts fine on my old iBook (which is just a normal CD-RW/DVD drive).
A few other DVD's I've tried have worked OK so I'm inclined to put it down to this particular one. Still, a little worrying though.
