UNIX command line tool "softwareupdate" works!

Just wanted to let everyone know that I tried out the command line tool "softwareupdate" to download and install the Disc Recording Update 1.0 that appeared in Software Update today.

Basically you just type "softwareupdate" to get a list of available updates based on your system and what you've already installed.

Then you issue the command again, as root (with "sudo" is fine), adding the name of the desired update as an argument to the command line tool. Then it shows the progress of the update... how much has been downloaded, if the package was verified or not, and then the progress on installation.

Pretty nifty, if you ask me. :) And the Software Update preference pane no longer brings up the Software Update application, so it seems to have worked. :D

oh wow, that is wicked... I had no idea that existed... now I can do it via terminal from work, no reason I can think of why I would want to, but gosh darn it I am going to just because I can!!! :)
