Why is this Mac broadcasting?

One of our G4 MDD Macs at work is almost continuously broadcasting to an IP number on our network. The Mac in question is running 10.3.9. The only apps that are usually running on it are Mail and Rumpus, which handles our FTP traffic.

When our Internet traffic slowed down a few weeks ago I set up our firewall/router to e-mail me log files. There are dozens and dozens of entries where this Mac, using port 631, is trying to send packets to XXX.XXX.255.255. No other computer, printer, switch, etc. has that IP. We use static IPs, by the way.

I did some checking and found that port 631 is for printing. I deleted all of this computer's printers and then set them up again. But the transmitting goes on.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks.

Head to System Preferences-->Print & Fax, click on the Sharing tab, and uncheck "Share these printers with other computers". That should prevent any broadcasting on that port (which is for Internet Printing Protocol used by the CUPS printing server in Mac OS X).
