L2 cache clocking via OF?

Does anyone here know how to clock, or eventually turn off the L2 cache of a PPC7400 (G4 Gigabit Ethernet) via Open Firmware?
I know it's possible, but I have no idea how...

The L2 cache is set by default to 2:1, and it's probably rated at 200 or 250 MHz. When the processor is overclocked from 400 to 500 MHz, the cache runs at 250 MHz. But when I start the computer at higher processor clock frequencies, it goes into Open Firmware and won't boot further, which I assume means the cache is the problem. If I could just clock down the cache to e.g. 5:2 (2.5:1), it should run fine at 550 MHz, maybe even at 600...
