Sorry for the delay it's strange really, it was all showing in the dock, but they wasn't clickable, and they had a ? over them, the application itself was missing from the harddrive. they hadn't been deleted its just strange that it happened. I have since done a whole new fresh install...

ok so I turned on the wife's macbook and Safari and Entourage was missing from the unit? I can put them back but am more worried why they went in the 1st place
