Like most everything else in OSX, the RAM plays a bigger role on display performance... you can get it much better than OS9 performance, but Winders got the good flash plugins.

I've just started using MacSFTP and it looks like it has the most robust options... allowing you to write specific permissions by default to all your uploads. Hopefully it will work.

Ahh, now copy that code into bbedit, and change the doctype to the default bbedit transitional doctype that has the url in it, and watch the whole thing stop working for IE. Take the URL out of the Doctype, and its back to normal.

I just read that IE6 for Windows reverts to a strict mode if you put a url in your doctype. This might effect one of your styles in that browser.

Im happy with FireFox... its seems a little more standards compliant than Safari (at least the last time I checked) I also keep IE around for testing and development. :|

Try putting this into the popup right after the body tag: <script language="JavaScript"><!-- self.moveTo((screen.AvailWidth-700),0); --></script> or you could enter it in a script tag

Heh, slightly off topic, but I use my wheel button to initiate the often-used screenshot-in-a-box, and I use my app-switcher button for muting the sound....but I woulndt mind having another button for expose!

Ugh, the beast rears its head again. Today, I was multi-tasking (two monitors, iTunes, USB mouse, FireFox, Mail, Fireworks)...and my Mac started getting hotter and hotter... which is normal for running i-Tunes or Flash. So anyways it kernal panics and freezes. I let it cool down, and...

Panther loves 512+ MB of ram... I went with 256 for a few days, then back up to 768... its a dramatic difference.

Be sure to try the Apple RAM by itself, without the Crucial. You never know. I had bad non-apple RAM in my al-book causing constant Kernal Panics. I got it replaced, and so-far-so-good.

Hopefully my ending to this story...a happy one: MacMall listened when I said flat out "Apple told me the free RAM is defective". They overnighted me a new chip and a fedex slip to return the bad card. Hat's off to MacMall for exceeding expectations! So far, crash-free for 3 days. :D
