Thanks. I updated the firmware and it didn't help. I'm wondering if it has to do with the fact that I'm connecting wirelessly over my Belkin router. I'll try to see if that has something to with it. The router has no security measures so it's not encountering password problems.

I looked for one forever and finally found that if you have a registered version of FCP going back to version 4 - which I did - you can buy the whole upgrade through Apple for just $199.95. So that's what I did.
