    Apple + Tab = Cool

If Apple + Tab did exactly the same thing as in Windows, it would not be the same, it would be better, since the visual window indicating order of selection that appears on windows is, of course, of variable order, and its icon-only view sometimes confuses about which windows you are activating...

    Apple + Tab = Cool

Here goes another one... On new keyboards (without on/off button) ctrl + eject will bring the shut dows dialog both in 9 and X. It does no start the computer unfortunately.

    avi to movs, sort of

But that is only part of the cake. I have been only talking about video, and its codecs. Audio, unfortunately for Apple users, also caused and is still causing quite some headaches. Mostly you will find two different kind of sound compressors used in movies where their video is DivX. One is MP3...

    avi to movs, sort of

This thead tries to somehow answer the question of how to better view normally unviewable avis in a Mac, asked by... er... someone at this other thread, where it happened to be quite offtopic. I guess your main concern is with so called DivX avis. First you have to understand that both...

Can't see CD burned by windoze

Whatever Windows CD burning program will be able to duplicate a CD wether it is plain iso9660, Joliet, HFS, or whatever, multi or single session. I build multisession CDs on my Mac everyday because of work. Toast cannot duplicate such simple CDs unless multiple steps and complicated side tricks...

Can't see CD burned by windoze

theed wrote: You are wishing other's workstations where more like calculators. They are quite easier to use, but that does not imply it is such a wise choice, unless you simply want to multiply integers. Toast is a total crap, doesn't even duplicate multisession CDs. The Mac is in total need of...

    Apple + Tab = Cool

Er... not exactly. That's what Alt + Tab does in Windows. In X Apple+Shift takes you to the open app that is at the left side in the Dock of the one you are in, which is not necessarily the previous active one. I forgot to mention too that Shift does not work unless you have first used Apple +...

Can't see CD burned by windoze

Try Joliet File System Extension for Mac OS 9 (not X). It comes with drivers for several filesystems such as, besides Joliet, ISO 9660 level 3 which Mac OS 9 AFAIK does not support. Make sure you install the control bar module too, and try activating and deactivating the several drivers through...

    Apple + Tab = Cool

And Apple + shift = previous open App. However, this is MUCH BETTER done in Windows, where Alt + Tab is previous ACTIVE app, so you hit it once you change to another app, you hit THE SAME KEY COMBO again and you are back on the first app. In Mac OS X, if the Apps where not opened just one...
