After loading a disk image and having the installer ready to go, is there any way to see a break down of all the installation processes before going ahead and deploying from the GUI interface?

Well in answer to your question as well as good news.. neither drive was working showing up on the OS. I had unplugged, refreshed connections at the port neither of them came up. However, I just refreshed the firewire 400 only at the port and both drives are back online.
The drives are connected directly to the macbook pro. Were no issues for a long time until recently. One drive is firewire 400, the other drive is firewire 800. They do not show up in disk utility.
Two externals aren't showing up on the OS. I've reset power management with no success. The drives work, there's no problem there, just OS X isn't recognizing them anymore. Both drives are partitioned in apple format. Any suggestions?
