I wanted to add that I just reinstalled the software and still have the same problem with iDVD not starting. All other applications are working as they should.
I have been using iDVD V6.0.4 for a couple of years now and all of a sudden it won't open. I have tried opening every movie I have made with it with the same results.

I found my problem! In Finder>Preferences, the "Show removable media" button was not checked. Now I have never gone into that screen and my CD's and DVD's were still showing in the Finder so it must have unchecked itslelf...LOL!
