I don't have filevault on. When I try to access the old HD in the USB caddy, will it ask me for my password from my old account or just say 'The folder “xxxxx” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents.'? Or neither? Thanks for the quick answer

I am just about to change the HD in my macbook and I want to take the old HD out and put it in a caddy so I can retrieve my data once I've got the new HD up and running. How do I avoid having problems with access permissions on the old HD in a USB caddy? Thanks
