how can i make a shortcut on desktop of any software?

Yes, no files....just drives. If you want icons for your favorite apps or even daily files, drag them to the dock and they should be fine. One smooth way of doing it is to just drag your whole applications folder from the finder to the dock, then, you can open any application with a click.

Mind you, the more things you have on your 'desktop', the slower the operating system seems to get. I've heard and seen this as a rule of thumb.

    Leopard: Bugs/Compatibility Reports

What I would do is switch the channels on YOUR G router. Go to channel 11 or 1. If you choose the opposite end of the spectrum, so to speak, your router should be available to you. There is more than likely a more powerful router somewhere that's on the same channel as yours.

"Must Restart Your Computer" message appears when restarting/after installing updates

I had this happen with an old Powermac G5 and the only solution was to do an erase and install, not an archive and install. Apparently, something I had done messed up the software and gave me the kernel panic screen as you are getting. Harry

    Viruses On Os X

Absolutely agreed. There was a posting on one of my MacOSX mailing lists that quoted, and I don't know the exact source's name, but it was a large software firm, that viruses are non-existant for OSX. Malware is out there, but you have to search for it, and it's very easy to avoid it if you do...

    Printer Drivers in 10.5.1

Well, apparently, the printer must be on during the archive and install. This wasn't the case, so I guess it's off to do another archive and install, if I can't find another way! Harry

    Printer Drivers in 10.5.1

I have an HP Photosmart 7960. I have recently had to do an archive and install of Leopard whereby I lost my old Tiger driver that was working just fine. The only Leopard disc I have is the upgrade disc that came with my iMac (aluminum). I have installed printer drivers from that disc...
