sorry you're right, on my shell on 10.3 was not so thanks, and do you know where is the file with the path ?

cleaning the preference works, (at least until now) thanks, one question again : I didn't find how to change the path, do you know which file to change to modify the path (echo $path don't work anymore)

question with tiger (10.4 on G5 2.3Ghz) : when I oppen the terminal it's start with the "job competed" message and I can't do anything anymore, this appends after I install "vmd" which is a software which use terminal, I try to find the path and the starting files for the terminal.app but...
