I am running OS X 10.3.9 and recently installed iPod software. Everything worked fine initially, but now when iTunes (4.8) opens, the wheel spins and I have to force quit to get out of iTunes. Any ideas?

iTunes hangs up when I open it. I'm running Mac OS X 10.3.9 and when i open iTunes I just see the wheel spinning, I have to force quit to get out of it. Any ideas?
