Ok, here was his reply (though he didn't mention how he got passed it.) You need to go to your system preferences and select accounts. You'll see the name of the account at the top left of the window and to the left is the password. When you want to change it start typing in password text...

Hey Bob, Unfortunately, I don't think this can be solved in any OS application. I've tried everything, which leaves something in Unix. Some have said he's set a password in there...do you know anything about that?
