ok, well i have a friend of mine who was given the same machine, would i be able to put it onto an external disk from his system, also i am now getting the blue screen when i log in as if the desktop is there but no icons, any suggestions? much appreciated.

ok i was given an apple eMac G4 and i accidentally deleted system profiler, i wasn't given a cd/dvd with the mac and i have updated my software to 10.4.11, any suggestions on what i could do? also i have tried to open system preferences which would not open either, but i guessed this was because...
