    Question about java

This might be a stupid question. I seem to ask a lot of those in this forum....sorry! I seem to have a java problem, as I get many of these errors. "localhost : JS: checkSupportedBootRom threw exception TypeError -" My JavaConfig.plist Vendor = apple; apple = { VM =...

    bootroot.loader

Whatever it is, is getting worse. I can't update. I get a message- Make sure you can connect to the Internet, then try again. So I looked at my pref file, and it had the following. <key>CatalogURL</key> <string>http://update.server.address:8088/</string>...

    bootroot.loader

I don't think so. I have EasyFind, but it's only supposed to search, not index. I do however have many help.helpindex files, and many html files. The help.helpindex files all begin with something similar to the following-- typedstream NSMutableDictionary NSDictionary NSObject...

    bootroot.loader

I'm just worried that I have a security issue. The changes I make in Safari or in network prefs, don't seem to matter. In Safari prefs I've unchecked "open safe files automatically". In my plist, it still has "True to open safe files automatically", "Webkit use site specific spoofing" etc...

    bootroot.loader

Because the only reference that I can find on the internet about it, says it's a rootkit. But I don't know how true that is. I was hoping someone with an Intel Mac would know if it's a required file. Thank you

Has anyone heard of this file? It's located in /system/library/privateframeworks/mediakit.framework/versions/a/resources/mkdrivers.bundle/contents/resources/ Also in this folder are the following files- Apple_Driver_ATA.ptDR.drvr Apple_Driver_ATA.wiki.drvr...

    remote root

I have many helpbook.helpindex files that make reference to "typedstream", "SKI_USE_REMOTE_ROOT", "SKI_INDEX_DATA", etc. I don't even like the sound of remote root. I've had problems that I've never been able to work out. Could this be something bad going on? Thank you!

    Can't clean install

Of course you assume that I don't know how to setup and use my mac. And you assume I'm a freakin idiot. But you know what, I have a mac that won't do what it's supposed to do. And I'm sincerely looking for help. But as always, there are those who look down their noses at others. Instead of...

    Can't clean install

I forgot to mention that I found a file that gives a clue about the 1904 date. It's in /usr/share/man/man1/rez.1. If any errors are detected, .B Rez sets the output file?s modification date to .B 0, which is January 1, 1904, 12:00 .SM A.M. .SH PARAMETERS .TP \fIrezFile1\fR [...

    Can't clean install

Thanks for being so nice. The reason I bought a Mac was because I'd been hacked using Windows. And it took me a while to start feeling safe with the Mac. But I finally did. And then all of this odd stuff started happening again......things similar to before. An automounting system that just...

    Can't clean install

I just reread my post, and sorry! It sounds like I'm going off on you who are giving your free time to help me (an idiot at times) for free. I apologize!! I'm just a little frustrated! I'm very very sorry!

    Can't clean install

No, it was new in the box, never opened. I don't think my problem is hardware. I think it's malware. Please, please, look at the warnings from the RKHunter log and tell me what I can do. If it was a memory problem, don't you think some of the old sht I'm trying to remove would begin to...
