If you have a valid IP adress and the only problem you are having is no internet access, it sounds like your company is using a web proxy.
Hopefully they are NOT using M$ ISA server. look in IE on your windows machien under network configurations, and see if anything...
I would check your network settings.
Do you use a router?
if so, is it DHCP? renew your IP lease, and check to make sure your DNS is correct. Also renew your IP on your router.
I had a problem that soundsed pretty much the same, and what it ended up being was I had old static DNS...
I had the same problem with my 1.67(PC2700 version)
I ran the Diag CD and it came back with a crazy error that involved "trackpad" (but i forget what the exact error was)
When I called apple, the tech had me read him the warning a couple of times to make sure he was writing it down properly...
