I honestly feel sorry for MS's LongHorn and it's long road ahead.
Panther is a fast cat to catch and will be beyond LH in 2006.
I know so many people especially where I work where they make comments knocking OS X day after day after day (like they would even know a real os if it bit them)...
Unfortunately we don't have an Apple store in Louisiana...
I have come to the conclusion that it is a dead drive :(
Thanks to all who helped me with this issue...
Much Appreciated... ::sleepy::
Tried all of the above and no go...
Now it's got the ball bouncing sound on start up
if I'm not mistaken that's the sound of a dead hard drive...
I really appreciate the info...
Your right, I will get used to it...
Just thought that there might be a hidden option somewhere is all.
Now that I think about it I am already used to it :)
2 Thumbs way up for Panther...
I did try that and the disc utility only found the os x disc...
I guess her computer is screwed...
Possible the hard drive went out?
I appreciate your input...
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to remove the highlight around icons that appears in Panther?
image below has what I am referring to.

Thanks.
iMac 800MHz
512MB
OS X 10.3.1
Nothing happens it just has a ? and does nothing at all...
I thought that if it had no system folder I could just install one.
But I suppose I am dead wrong huh?
Thanks alot for your reply...
I appreciate it...
Hello,
My girlfriends computer is acting a bit strange.
I would appreciate any help I can get thanks...
When trying to install either OS X or 9 all it wants to do is install the new system software on the installation cd itself which it knows it can't.
How do you get a new system on...
