    ElDiabloConCaca - thanks for that - I have a few of those messages which I will ignore. And I think you have cracked my problem - I had my computer set to log out after 60 mins of inactivity - doh ! I don't remember setting this though - perhaps it is a default. Many thanks.

    Hi, Macbook pro 2.4ghz, 4Gb ram, V10.6.4 I am experience repeated problems of apps closing in scenarios similar to this... I leave 1 or more apps running, come back the next morning and wake the screen and find all apps closed. Sometimes I can return and find all apps open as you might...
