thank you, I did some more playing and was able to use the copy to library feature and get back all the the books I needed to still read - it was though a very uncomfortable feeling when I realised that they had disappeared

I have just updated to ios7.0.3 and with iTunes no longer having iBooks because it it now in Maverick by itself - all of my ebooks, those that i have imported disappeared from all devices. They were still in the iTunes library and some were able to be imported back but... what have they...
