You don't mention if your AirPort Express Base Station (AX) is an older 802.11b/g or newer 802.11n model. If it is the newer model, be sure that you have it configured for using the 2.4 GHz radio. I had difficulty connecting my latest version Xbox 360 when the AX was operating with the 5 GHz...
