Lets not forget that Apple is a corporation operating in a free market economy and therefore needs to do some pretty cutthroat things to make ends meet and please the shareholders who are (and I assure you of this) majority none apple users.
In a nutshell, we in the Apple computer community...
Well, the way I see it, there is great potential to spank PC's in games on the MAC, it depends on a few things.
Will Games simply be ported from PC code to mac, or will they be written from the ground up for MAC? We need Altivec support, we need multiprocessing support (and not in the form...
Anyone know if Combustion is being carbonized or rewritten for OS X, and if so what will it offer that the OS 9 version doesn't? Read: Is there any reason to spend as much as $3500 for a copy?
Would someone who knows about this stuff please explain to me once and for all if the latest installment of OpenGL that came with OS 9.1 is AltiVec aware and if so, how does that effect (if at all) current OpenGL games like Q3 and Star Trek Voyager?

OS X 1.0 and Apples new Hardware line up will be the best consumer level computing available PERIOD.
I emphasize consumer, we're not ready to replace the Ultra SPARC III's and Solaris yet...
Anyone have an opinion as to the direction OS X will take Mac gaming, especially 3D gaming?
I understand that Carmak is behind OS X, but will he write multi-threaded games or will he simply carbonize an app and let the OS run on one G4 and the game on the other, thus not really giving the P4...
I actually sent an e-mail to Steve Jobs recently and he personally replied. This is not the kind of thing that most forture 500 CEO's do and it is an example of Apple's respect for their customers.
I don't defend all of their corporate policies, however as large companies go, they are...
