I'm having the same problems with the 7-15-2004 iPod updater. Does anyone know if I can update my iPod without restoring it? I can't replace a lot of the songs on my iPod, so I would rather not have to use the restore feature. Any help would be appreciated.

I wish I could offer first-hand experience, but I can't. Someone I know runs it on a 1GHz 12" PowerBook though, and it is very slow going. Fully-functional for what you are looking to do I think, but just very slow.
